Has this happened to you before? Someone is advertising a
great new opportunity and they want you to sign up under their
leadership. They make it sound so good and that the support
they will give you is out of this world. But, as soon as you
sign on the dotted line you can't even get your emails or
phone calls answered by them. You, my friend, have just been
loved and left!
I have seen it and felt it many times myself. People everywhere
are looking for ways to make extra income or to work towards
full time careers, they find a great opportunity and product
that they love and can't wait to get started in the business
but they need some help along the way. That is where their
upline comes in.
An upline is suppose to help the recruits along the way and
answer questions to help them get started and give them support
along the way. After all the upline makes money off the sales
of the recruit.
Don't leave new recruits hanging! If they have a question
answer it, don't ignore their emails or calls if they are
not a top earner because they very well could be if you would
give them some support and time.
I myself have signed with many companies and have been so
excited to get started but have been left behind by my upline
with no support, no help and no desire to pursue the business
anymore. After all why should I work and make them money!
Some Tips For Finding a Good Upline:
- Contact them for information on the opportunity and see
how long it takes for them to get back to you and how they
answer the questions you have.
- Do they have a monthly or weekly newsletter or any newsletter?
- Do they hold meetings either online or offline.
- Ask other downline members how they like the upline as
a manager/leader.
- Do they represent several different direct sales companies
and does this hinder them by having too many hands in the
fire?
Tips for Upline Leaders
- Answer the questions of your recruits in a timely manner.
- Send them sales tips, ideas and recognition on a regular
basis.
- If the recruit is having a hard time getting sales send
one of your cusomers their way. This will go a long way
in building them up in the self-esteem department.
- Recognize them for even small accomplishments this will
also go along way and will help them accomplish bigger things.
- If you do not want to support a downline think twice
before going into management.
I hope some of the ideas will help you in choosing your upline
and give you some ideas on treating your downline in a professional
manner as someone in a leadership position should. Please
pass this on to all your managers, upline, downline, leaders
and those that are new to management but also to those who
have been in it for years.
